Pursuit of Truth

This is a concept I will be referencing lots in future posts, therefore, I would like to talk about it now to help lay a foundation. It is often said that humans seek the path of least resistance. This is true. We want that path that we see as void of stress and pain, as our instincts tell us this leads to death. Therefore, we seek what is “good for food and pleasing to the eye,” and things that are “desirable for gaining wisdom.” And look where that got humanity. Beware these human ideals! We are all sick with sin and do not know what is best for ourselves! Only God, who is perfect and good knows what is truly “ideal” for us.

This is why the path to God is “constricted” and the gate “narrow,” as the LORD’s will does not always align with our human ideals, meaning we may suffer. We do not know what is ideal for us; we are selfish and love temporary comfort; humans are short-term thinkers. Rejoice, my friends! For Christ has our long-term (eternal-term) in mind! So, if you can put your faith in Him and avoid these human ideals, you will find genuine truth and happiness in life. He will show you what is truly ideal. Sure, sometimes His will will align with our human ideals, and I implore you take advantage of these times and enjoy them, but, be prepared for great trial and hardship in the short-terms, as He is focused on your eternity.

Lots of times the LORD’s ideal/will will make no sense to us, but lets not think so highly of ourselves. He knows all and sees all and loves us more than we love ourselves. So! Put your own logic aside and have faith when it comes to Thy will; the great I AM can think for Himself.
